Poor Fuel Economy GM cars - Chevy Silverado 1500

I recently purchased 2011 Silverado with 5.3 engine and 3.42 rear end. This truck is just like the 2007 I traded in down to the tires. Problem is with my 2007 I averaged 21 mpgs highway. With new truck I have not gotten beter than 17 mpgs. Tire pressure is 35 on all 4. Any ideas what could be wrong.
