Improper Towing

On Saturday, November 26, my family and I had reservations for 7:00 PM at LeCentral located at

112 E. 8th Ave. Denver, CO 80203. We arrived 10 minutes early and could not find a parking spot near the front so we went to park the car in the parking lot next to LeCentral and paid $5.00. We parked our car (with the front facing the building) in a handicap parking spot and placed our handicap tag on the rear view mirror. The car was new (just purchased a few days before) and had the proper temporary tags showing in the back window. We informed the hostess (female) that we could not find any close parking spots but did find one handicap parking spot behind the restaurant. The hostess said yes that it was okay to park there as it was for the customers of LeCentral and we wouldnt have any problems.

After we finished our dinner and paid the bill, we went behind the restaurant to the parking lot and discovered our car had been towed. We talked to the hostess and she informed us that Mile High Towing and Recovery towed several cars and that they believed they took our by mistake as they said we were properly parked. They gave us their number and we called Mile High. They informed us they had our car and it would cost us $275 to get the car out.in fact, the Mile High rep hung up on us three times. We got a taxi and drove over there. When we got there, there were no lights and no one was answering the door. Finally, the man who took our car drove up to us and asked what we wanted. We informed him we were there to pick up our car that was improperly towed. He became angry and said for us to shut our f—ing mouths or he would leave and we wouldn't get out car that night. We tried to get his name and information on his truck, but again, he grew very angry threatening us saying we would not get our car back and it will cost us more money after we gave him our $275 cash. When he finally calmed down, he drove our car to us and looked at our handicap tag and said to us, if you don't like what we did, f—ing sue me. There is nothing you can do and I have your money. We have tried to contact them, and they refuse to respond back.
