Flat Price Moving and Storage (DOT# 1946536) of Flushing, N.Y. (aka Northstar Movers Inc. Of South Ozone Park, N.Y.; DOT# 2003237) was hired to move several pieces of furniture from Westport, Ma. To Sarasota, Fl. During the October move, three pieces had legs completely broken off and two pieces sustained major water damage. The company rebuffed all phone calls and letters concerning the damage. The response consistently was "we're working with our insurance company." Finally on 10 April a small claims suite was filed and the court awarded judgement in the amount of $4541.45. Unfortunately, the judgement has not yet been honored despite letters to various government and judicial entities.
