This is the location on Glendale Ave Allegedly replaced my transmission with a new rebuilt one, but my truck is making the same awful noise and has major loss of power on steep inclines

Cars & Transport

October. Took my truck to them to have the transmission diagnosed. Was told that it would need to be rebuilt—took them 3 days for the rebuild. Was told to let things settle/seat for about a week then I could take it for a test drive (this was after I had received a call from their shop telling me that the transmission shop (by the way I found out at this point... Kelly doesn't do their own. They subcontract out the transmission work which was not disclosed to me up front) told them that my fuel pump was not working. Well I told them they best figure it out b/c it was working when I DROVE it in to you. Come to find out, some DA at the transmission shop had hit something on it or disconnected something. (And their tow truck driver also f'd up my brake line so that had to be replaced). So I waited, then took it for a drive. Up the hill out of Black Canyon City. The first incline, the truck did okay... 2nd incline - the most awful engine noise I have ever heard occurred and I had major loss of power—went from 80 down to 55 in a few seconds and almost was run over by vehicles behind me until I could get moved over.

I called to let them know what had happened and was requested to bring truck back in... They, for obvious reasons, could not get the engine to replicate the sound/loss of power on their little roller machine in the shop. I told them they needed to take it out for a test drive and of course, they could find nothing wrong... I told them I would take it out along with one of their techs... So he came with me... We went back up to Black Canyon City and voila` it makes the same noise and loss of power. The tech had me pull into the rest area so he could check out things... Could not visibly see anything wrong and told me he had never heard one make that noise or have such a great loss of power. They then send the truck back to their subcontracted transmission shop to review it again... I made them rent me a car as they said they would just pull out my rebuilt tranny and put in a new rebuilt one off their shelf... I got the car back the next day which was late Oct.

I was asked to go a few weeks longer before taking it back up the hill out of BCC, so I did... in fact it was over a month before I took it back up there... This is now Dec. I drive my truck to Prescott... Going up the hill out of BCC... Suprise surprise surprise... The truck makes the same noise and loses power... I went from 75 to 50 in about 5 seconds—again almost being hit by someone behind me. I was barely going faster than the tractor trailer rigs behind me.

I called Kelly Clark 12/27 to report this same problem... I asked that the owern of their substandard subcontracted tranny shop come with me for a drive to BCC... I receive a call today 12/28 from the KC shop only to be told that he's meeting with resistance about doing the drive and that it CANT POSSIBLY be the tranny... My point to him was... How do you know they really trully put in a new rebuilt one when they aren't in the same facility??? That question was not answered and instead I was told that it has to be the oil system not functioning properly (either losing oil or it's clogged up).. Funny thing is... My oil gauge barely moves from where it's at... Just under the midway point of 30 so I KNOW it's not the oil pressure... I told him that I am NOT paying any more money. This is their problem and it WILL be fixed... He tells me... Well since we know it's not the tranny, we can't just do the repairs for free. They have NO| Idea b/c the Kelly clark shop didn't pull out my tranny and put in a new rebuilt one... That's only what their substandard tranny shop is CLAIMING! To have done.

I am so fed up and need some help with this situation. I paid out $3898.35 for this repair (which did include some engine mounts, idle arm assembly and a few other small things for the front end... Most of that amount was the tranny rebuild and labor)
