Pinnacle Nissan
Lemon Drop!

Cars & Transport

I went to the same dealership I have gone to for the last year
because the Inifiniti side had always treated me very well.
However the Nissan side where I bought a second vechicle has been nothing but a nightmare. About two months ago I bought a '94 Nissan Pathfinder off their lot, and agreed upon a reasonable price for me and the dealer. From there it went downhill.

I had already gotten approval for more than the amount from my
credit union and was ready to make the transaction quick and
painless. Two months later they still have the credit process
botched up. They ignored my credit union financing and went
through their own finance company at twice the interest rate. And the whole process of filling out apps took two hours, even though I assured them my credit union worked with them and had the instant loan program, and that I was preapproved.

They made me fill out loads of paperwork and forms for which I felt there was no need. Assunming they knew what they were doing I jumped through their hoops. Hours later (Long after closing) I got to go home. The "We Owe" list of items to still be fixed later.
(See my second story on the service dept.)

Find out a week later they never went through my credit union.
They never even called them per the credit union managers (who I
know presonally), but when I spoke to Pinnacle, they claim the
Credit Union was called and denied me. So I called and raised a
ruckus. No results. Finally a friend began a calling campaign
every four hours. A pissed off manager fianlly offered a solution.

Their solution was for me to go through my Credit Union branch, do my own paperwork, that I paid a processing fee for as part of my vehicle purchase and bring them a check. Personally. For their mistake.

I was pissed, and yet had little chioce so I obliged. So now the Pinnicle has my 20k and I have a debt to the credit union of 20k. They assure me the have paid off and cancelled the internally financed 20k contract with WFS their finance company.
(As of Today about 2 months later, it still is an open
account and I get harrassing phone calls about not paying and not sending in insurance paperwork). Pinnacle keeps sayinig they mailed a check, but all I have is copy of one for 228.00, not the 20k owed to them. Again they seem to expect me to handle their mistake. I still have not even a SORRY WE SCREWED UP YOUR FINANACING from manager or account rep, and the sales guy, Craig Niles has never called to check in.

So I bought still having a problem paying off a contract that
can potentialy screw up my credit, but Pinnacle Nissan keeps saying "of don't worry, your name is off it." Maybe I should let them take the annoying phone calls from the finance company who shares a different view of where my name is!

See my PART TWO for more painful phone once I hit the service
department.
