Substandard repairs, salvage yard parts & salvage motors sold as rebuilt

Cars & Transport

My apologies go out to anyone who has had work done at this shop. You may or may not have gotten what you paid for. The mechanics at this shop endeavor to repair vehicles to the best of their abilities. Mr. Michael Kitchener the shop manager/owner (Not a good mechanic) will make every effort to have you leave you car in his shop.

These tips should assist anyone visiting this shop:
Make a point to ask about the parts to be used in the repairs. Ask if only new parts will be used to make repairs. Get what is promised in writing. Check the parts installed after repairs have been completed.

Get the proper paperwork and make sure you set a limit of how much you are expected to pay for the repairs in writing. Take the time to get the estimate in writing. Get it in writing before you hand over your keys and have it signed!!!
Once you hand over the keys, the car is a possession of the shop until you pay the bill in FULL.
If you are asked for a deposit get a receipt and don't lose track of it!!!
If you are to have an engine or transmission *rebuilt*; make a permanent mark on your engine block or transmission case and check for that mark after work has been completed.

If you are in doubt about what work was done properly, take your auto to a different shop. Never return your car back to a shop that did not perform all work properly and timely. I repeat " Properly & Timely"
I'm offering these tips to avoid any discrepancies and anguish in any transaction you may have with this shop. Your documentation will be your security.
I'm a former employee, however I don't think the state would recognize me as an employee of this company, as no TAXES were withheld from any compensation I received. I was paid in cash at first as the company had no checks. I was told on numerous occasions by Mr. Kitchener that paychecks would be issued weekly shortly, reflecting tax withholding. The pay amount was be increased accordingly, but this never transpired during my time at the shop.
