Despite the warning I got from friends and coworkers about the poor quality work Firestone does, I went ahead and purchased a lifetime alignment from a local (Mount Prospect, IL) Firestone. The service writer was very inpolite and unhelpfull I gt over that and asked him if i can monitor my car being pulled onto a rack he said no I cant go inside and the rack is not visible from the outside, which it was about 50 feet to the left of me by a bay door. I went over helped the tech about questions he had about my car and he alerted me to everything he was doing and if it is okay with me, that was great. Next week after a track event and suspention tunning went back to a diferent (Skokie, IL) firestone since they were too busy at the original one. The service writter took my key told me to sign and walked away. After a 2 hour wait the tech. Took my car for a very agressive test drive, I was not happy about. Skip to the point car was all ready on the rack service writter came over looked at my car told the tech to only do a front toe alignment and thats it. About 5 minutes later my car was done, as soon as this happened I knew it was going to be bad. Got my alignment specs they were all in the red zones. I asked why he just said there no adjustable and the tech checked and they cant change since the car would rub my fenders, from toe settings... That is nearly imposible, I asked can you fix it I gurantee you it will not it has been aligned to factory specs for many years I have owned it he said he knows and it cannot be done. Tried reasoning with his he said the car is out already he does not have time for this and sign here. On the rainy drive home the car pulled right hard and my front right tire temperature was at 152 degrees F the rest were all over 120 range. It was raining and about 70 out the top speed I went was 30mph and I only drove for 3 miles. That should never happen. Do not go to Firestone in Skokie, IL.
