Welding on my car improperly and shorted out 2000.00 ECM

My son carried our 2001 BMW 325i into this business to have the resonators removed on the exhaust system. After having this done, the car did not run right once he left. It was acting like it was skipping.
We had the car towed to a BMW repair facilty to find out that the error codes in the computer indicated that 18 incidents of short failures occured and the ecm was basically fried. What we learned is that on a BMW the sensors in the car stay mostly energized all the time especially when the key is left in the ignition. We also were told to properly weld on this car means to disconnect the negative side of the battery so while welding it would not short out the ECM.

Getting a new ECM is costing us more than 2,000.00 and we believe that rainbow mufflers is at fault. My son called Matt the manager up and told him what had happened and Matt denied anything they did made the ECM fry. He also told my son to F*K off which I think is very unprofessional.

It is my desire to put this business out of business unless they want to settle up with us on the repair bill we are having to pay.

We filed a complaint with the Better Business bureauas well but to no avail.
