Overcharged!

I rented a car from hertz, a Nissan Altima. At the time the serviceperson at the desk told me that it would be cheeper to buy gas from them when I returned the car. And when I did the guy that checked the car in also said the gas would only cost 2.90a gal. And I was told that the totel charge was going to be 511.00. But when I balanced my Bankbook I found out that Hertz billed my account for 634.86 a differance of 123.86. And by not telling me of this higher amount, they caused my account to be overdrawn and the bank charged an overdraft fee of 37.00.

If they had told me the truth to begin with I would have made sure the funds where available and avoided the overdraft. And after making dozens of calls to Hertz to get answers-the first two calls I was met with very rude staff persons and hung up on both times. One of them told me that since the car was returned empty that they charged me 9.29 a gal for the gas.

After some discussion they did agree to reimburse me 107.00 of the charge and that it would take about a week. But they would not cover the overdraft charges that they caused. And to make matters even worse is I am Disabled and had applied for a small loan to cover the up front cost to get a Service Dog to assist me in my day to day needs. And because of the overdraft that they had caused that loan has been declined. If I was treated like this in a fine restuarant I would get a full refund. And I feel that I was treated unfairly by Hertz and I was lied to. And I would like a full refund.
