USPS losing money - Shipping/Parcel Post

I am waiting to receive a package from North Carolina to New Mexico. It was received on April 1st with an expected delivery date of April8th. I check the tracking information and it shows that it was sorted in Phoenix AZ (skipped NM?) on the 10th (after expected delivery date) and sorted through California facility on the 12th (4 days after expected delivery date). OK, so they shipped my package from one coast to the other, entirely skipping NM. What is wrong with this picture? No wonder the USPS is losing so much money. Shut it down and let the private sector take over. Typical government agency.
