Ripoff

Jacobs Motors of 420 Cambell St, Rapid City, SD ripped us off when we bought our new Nissan from them 2 weeks ago. They used a common deception technique known as "stuffing", which entails adding extra costs to an auto purchase without the knowledge of the buyer.

Jacobs Motors had promised us that they would pay for our next three car payments on our other family car, if we would buy from them. We agreed and my husband signed all relevant paperwork. Jacobs motors had us sign a work sheet which included 'added equipment' which we assumed to be the tow package that had been added to the car. We later discovered (after intense questioning), that 'added equipment' was infact the 690 dollars worth of payments which they had agreed their company would pay. They later added over the top of the line which read 'added equipment' the words '3x car payments' to make it appear that we had knowledge of what we were signing.

Jacobs motors decieved us by tricking us into financing 3 car payments ourselves, which they gave back to us in the form of a check. They have not given us the money for the three car payments that they are obliged to pay for. We contacted them about it and the general Manager verbally abused us, patronized us by sneeringly replying that 'we were adults and should read what we were signing' implyling that it is perfectly fine to lie to a customer, as the fault is customer's if they do not detect this lie in time. Then he stormed off in a tantrum, refusing to honor the company's promise. Needless to say we are both disgusted and shocked by such outrageoulsy deceitful and unproffesional behavior!

Fortunately for us we are protected by the United States Air Force. If a business choses to rip off a military member or his or her family, the base is able to ban all further business association with the company for any military member or dependant.in the case of our base that would be around eight thousand people. I seriously doubt that Jacobs motors would want this outcome. We will be pursuing this avenue of redress if our situation is not recified to our satifaction immediately. We will also be notifying the Attorney General's department of Consumer Affairs as well as seeking additional attention from the media and Base Legal Office.

We strongly believe that these sorts of deceitful business tactics need to be stopped and we will make it our business to pursue this.
