I booked a 9 seater minivan for a day trip for my daughters birthday and her friends. I was quoted £115.99 for 1 days hire. AFTER I had sent copies of my license and proof of address, they rang me to say that the vehicle was not available, the booking was canceled and there would be no charge to my debit card. I obviously then made other arrangements. However, on the day of the trip, a 17 seater minibus was delivered to my home!!! They had booked the vehicle for 2 days hire at a cost of £179.42 with a total of £429.42 to be debited to my account. All without my knowledge or consent!!! Ive contacted them but without response. If/when the money is taken from my account I will be taking legal advice. They are obviously taking advantage of the debit card system.incidentally, I also tried to get help from the vehicle providers, Europcar.com, but they don't want to know.
