Rip off

My renewal was up for this insurance place. I didn't authorize or want a renewal, so I didn't sign any paperwork; nor did I call to have a renewal. On Nov 26, I got a deduction of $97.00 from my bank for a renewal. I called Monday, Nov 29 to ask why I got a deduction. The representative told me since I was on an automated deduction, they just automatically deducted it. (Without my approval). I told her it's not fair because for 1) I didn't receive any letter that they were going to deduct it 2) I didn't even receive a new card/letter indicating the active dates of my "new" policy. She didn't know what to say. So I told her if I can have it credit back to my bank account since I didn't have any notice of this. She said no because I already have a new policy with them and in order for me to cancel is to sign a cancellation form and fax/email over to the company. So I told her if I would be cover for this month if I didn't want to continue my service with them. NO! Ugh, so basically to sum this all up, I paid $97.00 for 3 days to have insurance. When I did have insurance with them, they would send a letter indicating when the funds were going to be deducted from my bank account. *Funds weren't deducted the date they indicated, but a week or so before it gets deducted.* Imagine if they do service like this, how would they do their service when you need them? I am going to a local insurance place now. I guess it serves me right for being cheap and not looking for a local insurance.
