VSA/ABS modulator failure

ABS and VSA lights have come on and will not go out. I have a 2006 CRV with only 28078 KMs that has always been serviced and treated like it was new. Dealer says part will cost $2,143 to replace not counting installation and taxes. This bothers me greatly as this part should last much longer than that. I have a 15 year old Toyota celica in mint condition and it has more than 110,000 kms on it and the only thing that has been changed on it is the oil. The honda dealer just told me too bad and that they would not do anything for me. I guess I'll have to trade it on another Toyota or something more reliable than a Honda.
