Platinum Warranty Corporation - Warranty Wizard
Platinum Warranty Corporation Aka Warranty Wizard DECEPTIVE FRADULENT COMPANY THAT DOESN'T HONOR WARRANTIES

Cars & Transport

I purchased the warranty from Platinum Warranty/Warranty Wizard on-line for both of our vehicles with zero deductibles. The first warranty was for a 97 Nissan Altima for 48 months/48,000 miles at a cost of $1,099.00 which has acquired 21,560 since the warranty was taken out. The second warranty was for a 98 Isuzu Rodeo for 36 months/36,000 miles at a cost of $1,249.00 which has acquired 9,000 since the warranty was taken out.

The first warranty request was for the Altima on 10/17/03: the cv boot on the driver's side was leaking and needed to be replaced. The cv boot is a part of the axle which is a so called covered component. The dealer was told by Platinum Warranty that the cv boot is not a covered component because it could be replaced and was a part of regular maintenance. How many of you have taken your car in to replace the cv boot as a part of regular maintenance? I told Jeff of Platinum Warranty that regular maintenance includes: oil changes, timing belt/chain replacement, or transmission, fuel injection, and radiator services. The cv boot replacement is more work and more expensive to replace than the axle with the cv boot on it.

The second warranty request was for the Rodeo on 10/22/03: the rack and pinion seals are leaking and the rack and pinion needs to be replaced according to the dealer. The dealer was told by Platinum Warranty that the seals are not covered. I spoke with Jeff of Platinum Warranty and was told that the seals can be replaced and they would not cover the replacement. Why would the dealer replace the seals which would be more difficult and costly than replacing the rack and pinion? I told him that I wanted to speak with his supervisor because he was rude; however, I was told he was out to lunch. I left a message for the supervisor, Paul at ext. 3012 and have not received a call back yet.

The company tries to find every loop hole to get out of paying on warranty claims. I really would like to know how are the parts that are on a so called covered component, not covered. Something on a so called covered component has to go out in order for the so called covered component to need replacement. I wish that I had known that the company doesn't honor their warranties prior to giving them any money. We could have kept the money in the bank to pay for the repairs that we have had to pay out of pocket.
