Illegal towing of cars, bribary, and extortion

Last night I was parked in a visitor parking spot visiting a friend at their apartment. My car was towed from the visitor parking spot. I produced evidence of the wrongful action against me to the wrecker service where I was treated with disrespect from the tow driver that evening, the receptionist the next morning, and Earl himself. It is a disgrace that such practices continue in our city without regulation. I was extremely surprised that the BBB has an "A" rating only because all complaints against the company have been resolved by the complaining party. Not only has this situation been an inconvenience to me, these practices should be illegal. The apartment complex, of which I do not live in, insisted that Earls Towing acted properly in removing my vehicle. They state that I was not parked in the required place for visitors, which I was, and have no evidence other than hearsay. I have spoken with my attorney, the local sheriff's office, the Wilmington Police, the Wilmington City Council public representative, New Hanover County Commissioners representative who all agree that my only option is a civil suit with the two businesses because this is a considered a private matter. Extortion, bribery, and theft are all crimes that everyone should be accounted for, why should these companies not be held accountable for their actions? I firmly stand by my opinion, no actions the businesses take to attempt to rectify my situation will change my opinion.
