Trying to defraud me $345 on warranty refund

On 7-15-03 I bought a 1996 Plymouth Voyager from Universal. The sale price included a 12 month 12K warranty from a company called PRco (1-800-388-PRCO) The warranty cost $975 plus tax. I bought the warranty because it had a great feature. You could cancel it within 30 days for a full refund!

On August 11th, I went to Universal to cancel the warranty and get my refund. First they said they could not refund because it was part of the price of the car. Then they said they would have to pro-rate it. I pointed out that the contract said full refund. They grudgingly agreed but said they would have to talk to the owner. The next day I called them and now they were saying they couldn't refund it because they might decide to purchase a warranty with a different company. This after I had a signed contract with PRco!

Later on the same day, I spoke to the owner Mr Hunka, and he said he would refund my money with a $25 paperwork fee deducted. I agreed to this. One week went by without a phone call or check in the mail from Universal. I called again and now their story was that I had only paid $630 for the warranty, not $975.in some material they faxed to the local Better Business Bureau who in turn gave it to me, they actually fraudulently CHANGED the amount on the contract from $975 to $630. They apparently did not realize that I had a copy of the contract showing $975.

In addition to my complaint with the BBB, there is also a complaint filed with the Washington State Attorney General's office. This business owes me $975 plus tax. Watch for further updates.
