$800 upsell attempt for nonexistent problems

Went to this store for 2 tires. When we picked up the car we were told that we needed new ball joints among other repairs amounting to over $800.00. We told the clerk we would take care of it later. We then took our car to our trusted garage where we have done business for over 20 years. Their opinion?"This car is in great shape. We checked everything in the front end and found no problems." Needless to say, I'm going somewhere else for my next tire purchase.
