Budget Rewards Program Ripoff Cendant Car Rental Group

I have been a faithful Budget Car REntal Customer. I have earned a lot of points in the rewards program. And in the past I have enjoyed many free rentals and rewards using the points earned with no probelm.

In the begining of I redeemed online a TUMI briefcase using 8400 points (a lot of points!). After a month or two I forgot all about it. Then one day I received a moneyclip/wallet from TUMI. I did not know where it had come from since none of the paperwork stated it was for Budget Rewards.

After another month or so, I called Budget to follow up on the TUMI briefcase and they told me it had shipped already. We discussed the situation and mutually agred the wallet was probably shipped in error - it should have been the briefcase. Budget had TUMI send me a Return Good Authorization and I immediately returned the wallet - new and unused. I hav since heard nothing.

I have called numerous times and told to be patient, these rewards take a while to ship. Finally I called in the beginning of June and spoke with a customer service rep who agreed we should simply cancel the TUMI order and she would rede[posit the 8400 points into my account. Then I could simply reorder.

To date, I have written emails with NO response. I cannot seem to get the right person on the phone to help me. No points have been redeposited and no briefcase has been received.

I find customer service at the corporate level at Budget to be horrible. I wonder if their financial problems has caused all ot this. Perhaps TUMI is simply not willing to sell a company in bankruptcy?

Oh well, I have decided to take my business elsewhere.
