Aamco Transmission
In Oakland California does not seem to care when you get your car back and will not allow you to have it back until they are finished charging you what they feel like. Class action anyone?

Awful, they have had my car for ten days and the price just keeps going up. Check them out with the local BBB, many complaints. Do not make the mistake I made, you will be sorry. Go anywhere but here. When they could not repair my car in five days (supposed to be two) I went to have it towed (when I took it in it still drove) and they would not let me leave until I paid them. What was I supposed to pay for?
The original estimate was $2,400 for a transmission rebuild, I was assured that this was the problem, and since they do transmission work for a living I trusted their opinion. The next day I was called and told it was going to be $3,600, well I did not have much of a choice now that the transmission was out of the vehicle and in pieces so I said that this sounds like my only choice so go ahead. The next day I come to get my vehicle and it is performing exactly like it was the day I brought it in, with an emphasis on "exactly". The owner of the shop decided that it was actually a computer problem but was sure that my transmission needed rebuilding anyway, it should be noted that the vehicle only has 65,000 miles. The computer is going to be an additional 600 dollars. I still do not have my vehicle but have contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair. I will continue to update as the story unfolds.
