Dusty's Better Built Transmissions
Took $600.00 cash with receipt but no estimate given

I was informed by Don at Better Built Transmissions that the car was stuck in a valve on 07/07. He claimed that it would be $1500.00 to fix it and we had paid him $600.00 up front in cash and he never gave me a written estimate as to what these charges are for. A few days later, he said they needed a new computer PCM for the car and was ordering one from Las Vegas. Don stated he sent the vehicle to Nimnicht Chevrolet with the new computer pcm to be reprogrammed and the system would not flash and therefore the part was defective.

Don stated he would look for a new part and try to fix the car. On Monday, August 10, my mother, Helconida Kleiber spoke to Don and he stated the $600.00 was for labor and that he would not be reordering the part again. Again, he never showed us proof of where the $600.00 was used for labor and had given us just a receipt of getting the money. After talking to Don a second time, he said that he was through fixing this car and even though his computer was down when he wrote the original receipt he could show me proof now what he spent the money on labor. He said he would not order anymore computer pcm's because Nimnicht Chevrolet told him the part was obselete.

After talking to Service Advisor Zach at Nimnicht Chevrolet, he stated that the computer pcm was not obselete, the computer pcm was working fine but there were other issues going on with the vehicle and they would need to be diagnosed. Better Built Transmissions spent $108.00 to reprogram the part. So basically, Don was lying about the part the entire time and did not want to fix the car for the original price he quoted. He just gave up.

I want my 1999 Chevrolet Malibu running asap and for Don at Better Built Transmissions to keep his end of the bargain for fixing the car for $1000.00. He was very rude the last time and told me to get my vehicle from Nimnicht Chevrolet and to have a nice day. My kids start school in approximately 1 week and I need a running vehicle.
