My car was stolen from Cole Muffler on Genesee Street

My fiance and I dropped off my car, 1994 Blue Saab 900S with a silver hood, at Cole Muffler on Genesee Street in Utica, NY on Friday evening 7/31/09, putting the keys in an envelope with name, phone # & cell phone on it in the mail slot into the garage for brake work.

We brought the brakes, almost $500.00, at a local auto parts store, had the parts delivered to Cole Muffler and have the delivery receipt. We couldn't pick up the car Saturday, when we went to pick up the car on Sunday, August 2 it was gone. We could not get ahold of the Cole Muffler staff as there was no emergency number listed on the building so we called the local police. The officer we spoke with felt the mechanics may have taken the vehicle somewhere overnight.

Monday morning we began making phone calls. Nothing could be learned and we filed a police report on my stolen vehicle. The Cole Muffler district manager was sympathetic at first, then the corporate office became involved and they are wondering why someone would take my 1994 Saab when there was a newer car with the keys in it in the same parking lot. Implications and innuendos began.

My car and its contents was removed from their property with out my permission and is gone, with no anticipation of any help from Cole Muffler.
