Why should I be punished for their screw ups?

In December my husband and I saw this truck at "Freeway" (at that time thats who owned the lot). So we decided to stop and look at it. The salesperson and manger were presented and wanted us to get the truck. We didnt have the down payment right then so we came back in on that Wednesday to get it. Well everything seemed to be going good except for how the salesperson presented the paperwork. He told us the vehicle was being listed under a lease. I asked him why and he said thats how they did things and made the buying process easier. I didnt understand and at the time felt like something was wrong. Well we go on get the truck give him our $600 and take the truck home. Not even two whole days with the truck and something was wrong. So my husband calls the repair number and they tell him to take it to thier mechanic. The truck stays in the shop for two weeks. We pick the truck up and was informed that the mechanic could not do the repairs due to not being paid on other accounts from Freeway. The truck stays parked in the driveway for a week and then we get a call to bring it in again. LOL!!! It stayed for two weeks and do you think they fixed it? Well to mak a long story short that truck stayed in and out of the shop finally resulting in the truck was not worth fixing. So we stay on the phone everyday calling about what is going to happen. No one wants to talk, or give any answers. They get the go ahead to get us another vehicle. So the waiting game begins. The first week they try hard to get us a truck but find nothing. They offer us an Expedition but we want a truck to replace our truck. Finally the manger of the carlot here in columbus comes out and tells us we have to take what they can get us or take nothing at all. What we would you do? I mean by this time we have money invested and didnt want to lose out. So we let them talk us into a Blazer. It wasnt what we wanted at all but what can we do? We ask them to let us take it to our mechanic and we were told no that they have a mechanic onsite who would look it over and if anything was wrong they would fix it. Then came the time for the paperwork. I looked over the price and noticed that the money i paid in on the truck was not included. They informed me quickly that they could not do that for they were cutting a lost too. This blazer was costing me more and as it was all the payments i paid in were gone. So now i was having to pay 14,000 dollars for this used blazer that didnt even look worth 5,000. I was really upset. The manger informed that if i pay on time and after a year the payment would go down. I found out later this is a lie. Well that blazer we got, we had it for two months and noticed the gas sfume smell was getting stronger. I let my mother drive the vehicle and she complains about the brakes. So the next day my husband takes it to our mechanic and he informs us of the rust brake lines and gas line. We call Auto Maxx and tell us to take it to the shop. This vehicle too is unfixable. So now two weks later we have no vehicle, no one wants to return calls but oh did I mention that they want to give m my down payment back? Yeah thats what you have to look forward to if you buy a vehicle here, stress and lost of money.
