Stole my money

I had trouble with my dodge ram van starting. Sometimes it would and somtimes it would not. I had the neutral safety switch replaced and it did not fix it. My mechanic figured it was probably the ignition switch since it could not be anything else. He fixed the battery cable which was bent.
He had to order the ignition switch from a local dealership sicne dodge makes sure you cannot use anyparts but theirs. We had to pay in advance in order to get the part.
While waiting for the part the van has started with no problems. I told my mechanic to stop the order until we see if this lasts. He does not have the part yet but he said it is too late. Dodge will not return parts and refund the customer's money. I am now stuck with a $300 part I don't want that I don't even have yet but was charged for.
I called Dodge Chrysler and they told me that because I went through an independant dealer they would not refund my money. If I had gone through the dodge dealership for the repair they would return the part and refund my money. After telling him that did not even make any sense at all, he then proceeded to raise his voice to me and tell my, for 30 minutes, how Chrysler is the real victim here. It costs them money to sell me the part and then return it. He said it is not their responsibility.
I do not use my local dealership since they could not diagnose the gridning noise in my van for the last four years. It was the transmission which by this time, four years later, was completely ruined. My mechanic told me I was lucky the van did not catch on fire (My husband is in a wheelchair).
This is how Dodge Chrysler stands behind theri products and services and their customers. They take your money and run.
These are not good business practices and Dodge does not believe in customrer satisfaction!
