"Accidently" Repoed my car TWICE in one week and made me pay for it the second time! / west Palm Beach

I started financing a car from coastal auto sales in may. They are a car dealership that supposively helps people with bad credit. Coastal Auto Sales works side by side with Community Credit Corporation which is where I make my weekly payments.

From the beginning my payments were scheduled for every Monday. But I dont get paid until Thursday so we had a verbal agreement that I would be in every Friday to make my payment. I lost my job in Dec of 08 and it took me about a month to find another one. So i was a little behind. Again, we had another verbal agreement that every week I would pay $20 extra until I got caught up. I then had them sign some paperwork that stated this agreement.

Everything seemed fine until this week. On friday of last week (6/5) I went in like usual to make another payment. I paid what i was suposed to plus the $20 which ended my balance at $80. Monday morning (6-8) I'm leaving for work to find that my car is gone! I call the cops and they tell me my car has been repossessed. I had to wait until 10am for community credit to open to go in and find out what was going on. When I went in they told me that my car had been "accidently" repoed! He said his boss sent in a repo order for my car to the towing company to deal with but then he changed his mind and canceled it but the towing company picked my car up anyways. I asked him why his boss would even send in a repo order to begin with when we have an agreement... He had no answer for me. They gave me my car back for free. But I missed a day of work. I told him i'd see him on fri for payment and he said ok.

I decided to pay off my balance all at once and also pay my next payment early... So i dropped a check in their drop box tues night. Wed morning my car is gone again! Wtf! I went in to community credit again at 10 am for them to tell me that their boss has changed his mind again. I was outraged! I made them give me every piece of documentation of our agreement, my payment history, the repo order, and the cancelation order. They hesitated to give me any documentation but after i told them that my dad is a cop they handed it over. This time I had to pay a repo fee of $300, my balance i owed, plus my next payment. They told me that I could just now go to the tow yard and pick up my car.

I get to the tow yard, which is also a house lol, and i walk up to a little window with a lady sitting in there. She opens the window and a sworm of termites flew into my face. She then starts yelling at me to get back as she sprays bug spray everywhere. Disgusting. She tells me i owe her $155... 25 storage fee, 95 for my own property inside of the car, and $35 for my plate. I asked to speak to her boss. She said he wasnt there. I asked for his number and she refused to give it to me. She told me they only accept cash which always seems weird when a business says that. She kept slamming her little window in my face, cursed at me, and treated me like nothing. Everytime i would knock on the window to talk to her she would say "what! It's f*in hott out there" as she ate her mcdonalds with termites flying all around her. I have never met a person so rude and disgusting in my life. I left to go to the atm and came back with 160 in 20's... She told me she did not have the $5 in change to give me LOL! I made her right out a reciept saying that she owes me $5. She refused to give me any copies of the paperwork i was signing off on and a couple hours after i left i realized that i had a dent in the back of my car from them.

Today (6/11) i went back on my lunch break to the tow company to get my $5 because i will never give that company anymore than i have to. I showed them the dent on the car and they denied it saying that i just did that. I told him his people did it and asked what he was gonna do about it and he said it wasnt his problem and just walked away. I have a hunch that these people are operating illegally and I plan on reporting it to anyone and everyone that I can.

Community Credit and Coastal Auto Sales say they help people with bad credit rebuild their credit but really they are taking advantage of people in difficult situations. They are repoing for little or NO reason to get extra money out of people (repo fees) and if people cant come up with the money for the fee they just resell these cars and make even more money. It's disgusting. I had a verbal and written agreement with them and they took my car anyways twice in one week. I couldnt sleep last night in fear that my car would again be taken... I left at 5am this morning and slept in my work parking lot until 7am when i had to be at work. Ridiculous that i even have to stress out like this when i have done nothing wrong. I have missed two days of work and this has caused my family a lot of emotional stress.
