Scare Tactic

This was a while back... Within this year... I went in to Tire Kingdom for a battery and as long as I was there I got an oil change... They only had a very exensive battery but I figured i'd get that battery just to get one in the car and get out of there. They also told me I need an engine oil cover gasket because it was leaking. They said they could do it for 250 dollars. I told them no because I have a friend who can do stuff like that. We picked up an engine oil cover gasket at an auto supply place for about 12 bucks. My friend went to put it in and he told me that the engine oil cover gasket was just fine and I didn't need a new one... But he also said that they kept the engine cover loose so there would be oil leaking and it would appear that I did need one of these rubber gasket things... The funny thing is I have 2 cars and I was getting all my tires at this place... Now I wouldn't go back there ever and I tell everyone about this... They are losing lots of business from me... Where is the sense here but this is what happened to me.
