Incompetent, non-professional, wanna-be mechanics

I had driven past this business 100's of times but never had my car serviced there. My car broke down on May 10th, and my friend suggested I go there. She took me down there and they told me if I had my car fixed there they would not charge me to tow it. So, I had them come pick it up. So they get it back to their shop, and the next day he calls ("He" being Ba Bro, the owner) and tells me he doesn't know what is wrong but that it is something electrical and he can't fix it. This was ironic to me as on his business card it says "If I can't fix it then it's not broke."

I decide to have it towed to Davis Generator Service as I know they will be able to fix it. Ba Bro's charges me $40 to tow it to them. Once the car gets there, the receptionist at Davis Generator says that the tow truck had been hooked up to my car wrong and my transmission lines had been pulled out! I was so mad because they couldn't fix what was wrong and then on top of that they added another problem! So Davis Generator will not even touch the car at this point until the owner of Ba Bro's comes down there and acknowledges the damage that was done by his shade-tree mechanics! Luckily he did take responsibility and said he would bring it back after Davis got done and fix my transmission lines!

So the next day Davis has fixed it and Ba Bro's tows it back to his shop to be fixed. Davis had asked him if he wanted them to fix it and he would re-imburse them but of course he says no because he wants to be cheap and fix it him self and rig it up! This was on a Friday and did not get my car back until Monday evening! On Saturday he complained the rain was hindering him, although he has a garage to pull my car into so I didn't get that. He said he had to get to pull-a-part before they closed. That was also bull to me because he had went and looked at the damage already so he knew what part he needed. He should of made it his business to get that part long before the last minute! They damaged my car so I feel like I should of been priority. Finally on Saturday he just stops answering the phone, just left me hanging! So this means it will be Monday morning before I can make contact again!

Monday morning comes and nobody answers the phone until about 9:30. He comes up with a sob story about his mom had a heart attack on Saturday and he wasn't able to get anything done because he had to rush to the hospital. I am a very sympathetic person, but by this time I was at my witts end with these people and I wasn't believing anything these people said! When I finally get my car Monday evening I have a new dent in my car on the front passenger side on the side of the headlight and my bumper is hanging down just enough that when I turn my steering wheel to a certain point to the left it scrapes my tire against the bumper. Moral of this story: DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! I know just about everyone is strapped for cash these days, but in the long run it is better to go to a reputable shop such as Davis Generator Service on Douglas Ave. Thank you for reading this report.
