Broker rip off

Iam taking this opportunity to inform carriers who might happen to be looking for loads out BOSTON about "Jim owner of Gloucester dispatch". I had a multi pick, multi drop load from Boston to Atlanta Ga paying 2500$ to my truck. As agreed it had 4 pickups but they ended up being 7 pickups. The pickup miles were 200 miles more on the total miles paid, then the drops turned out to be 12 instead of the agreed 7 drops. I questioned him before i left Gloucester, but promised to throw in more money on the rate. This was the worst mistake that i did because that was the last time i would be able to have a phone conversation with him. This was on a Friday and my first drop was scheduled on monday in NC.

My last stop was on Thursday at Mcdonough GA. All along i was always told he was out meeting his customers until when i finished my last drop. I informed him that i had to charge more money, since i had driven over by 1300 miles of the quoted 2000 miles. He didn't disagree with my mileage and blamed his dispatch for poor route planning. He promised me that he was going to look on to it and get back to me the following day on Friday. He never kept to his word and every time i got him on the phone he would claim how busy he was and his accounts payable department had not yet reached a decision regarding this. I tried the accounts payable department which informed me he was the only one who could authorise any more money.

I never gave up on what i believed was owed to me, but it always fell on deaf ears. All along i held on the bills of lading waitng to get a new load confirmation with a new rate. After three weeks i got him on the phone and he told me to mail him all the paperwork with a new rate confirmation of what i would charge him. I mailed everything, and to my suprise the next time i called him he said he could only add 400$ on top of the initial 2500$.

The next time i talked with him he acted very unprofessional and threatned me to stop calling him. I had now started to give up but iam glad that there is a forum like this one where my experience, should be a lesson to others. I know how hard most truckers work, only to be treated like nothing when all is said and done. I did my job even when i was verbal promised of something and made sure everything got to where it was supposed to get.

Truckers watch for this kind of pple who are out there to rip off other pple of their hard earned dollar. Make sure that all is written down on paper, coz they will promise anthything when they can only do nothing.
