Bayridge Nissan
Service dept. Lied about work that needed to be done

Cars & Transport

I want to warn anyone who is even thinking about going to Bayridge Nissan in brooklyn to not even bother. I bought a 2001 nissan maxima in september. From the beginning my instincs told me that I might be making a mistake, but I was in love with the car so I proceeded with the deal. The next day when I was supposed to drive off with the car I noticed that the power seats on the front passenger side didnt work. I brought it to their attention and they immediately without any thought told me that it was not their problem. Only after threatening them not to purchase the car and going across the street to another dealership did they fix the seat. I thought everything was all said and done.

Then a week or two later we had some rain, I noticed that the inside of my roof was leaking inside the car. I immediately contacted bayridge nissan and spoke to my dealer, Germain. He told me to bring the car over. When I got there germain looked at the water damage and made a phone call to the used car manager. They told me no problem schedule a service appointment and we will repair the problem. I did just that. When I got their the service manager santo claimed that this damage was not covered under warranty and I would have to pay for it. It was only after hours of phone calls back and forth and me arguing with the managers that they finally fixed it.

But thats not all, 1 week ago I went in to get my oil change. I dealt with Donna Argento, who seemed like a nice honest woman. I asked that when they do the oil change if they could perform a multi point check, she said no problem. I sat in the waiting room watching t.V. And eating donuts. Donna came in 1 hour later and said everything is done, but that they found a few problems. The problems she claimed are:
1. Spark plugs need replacing-3hrs labor-$382
2. Microfilter-1hr labor-$149
3. T.B.I. (i dont even know what that is)-1hr labor-159
4. Passenger side engine mount split-1.5hr labor-$296
5. Front struts leaking-3hrs labor-$435
6. Strut boots torn-included with above
7. Alignment-1hr. Labor-$149

Now lucky for me, my mother is dating a mechanic. I decided to bring my car over to him to look at, and guess what he said? The only two things the car needed was an alignment and the engine mount replaced! Thank god I got a second opinion!

All I want to say is this, Look around on the internet about complaints about Bayridge Nissan. My experience is not the only one out there, there are numerous. I just wished I had looked them up before I did any business with them. I thought I was doing the right thing by having my car serviced by the dealer, I thought they cared about their customers. I was wrong. They are CROOKS. I have already told numerous people that I know that have purchased and leased, and people who are thinking about dealing with Bayridge Nissan to find someone else to get their next Nissan from. Shame on you Bayridge Nissan!!!
