Severe Overcharge with Very Misleading Quote

My car broke down in Stanhope, NJ. I inquired at the local gas station as to a nearby towing or auto repair business, and I received the number to Jimmy's Towing & Repair Service? But was warned that other people have been dissatisfied with his service. I was on a long trip, and I didn't have any other option so I had Jimmy give me a tow to his repair shop. When he picked up my car, he pontificated about how easy this problem would be to fix, and that it would not be over $125, plus the cost of towing. I was pleased with this figure, and agreed to it.

When I called the next day, Jimmy said he couldn't find the replacement part in a junk yard, but was looking for it. The price had not changed. The following day, He said to come out to pick up the car, and that he had increased the price slightly because he bought a new part instead of the old one. When I arrived, the price had almost quadrupled to $450. I was outraged that he would try and do this to me.in his unkempt and dirty shop, I demanded my keys and that he lower the price. He told me that I couldn't do anything about it, and that I would just have to deal with the increased price, which he told me nothing about. I paid and left, a most dissatisfied customer.
