O a 1997 Crown Vic... Just received recall notice informing me car can occur any time, even if key is not in ignition

This is beyond nuts! I have a 1997 Crown Victoria purchased new at Galpin Motors in Los Angeles. The vehicle has almost 150,00 miles on it.

I have just received a recall notice informing me that " a fire could occur at any time, even if the key is not in the ignition." The "issue refers to a component in the speed control system..." Good god! What next? Think before you buy a FORD.
