Wells Fargo Auto Finance
Does nothing but rip people off and herass them over the phone 15 times a day

First off we should have never gone with this company, we should have know from the begining when the ford dealer ship we went to offered us the loan and said "it will only be this way for 8 payments, then you can refinance".

We were getting ready to have a baby and needed a bigger car. I traded my 2000 ford ranger which i never had an issue with in for an 02 ford Escape. I didn't want a payment high than $200 a month and ford had talked us in to a $420 a month payment, by promising after 8 months we could refinance. They set us up with Wells Fargo.

Wells fargo never told us that we would be stuck with a 20.25% interest rate wich is crazy. We got a loan for 16,000, but by the time we are done we will have paid over $30,000 for an 02 escape.

We have always had a problem with Wells fargo calling us every hour starting at 8:30 am everyday even on sundays. We got the car in september and started out fine. Then my husband and i got a two bedroom apt and fell abehind on one payment. They started calling even more than before and telling us they were going to take the car. We set up a payment by electronic check over the phone. Right after we got ogg the phone with them, the phone rang and it was wells fargo calling to threaten us about the car. My husband told them we had just made a payment with a wells fargo rep. We told them all the info and they said they would put it in the computer. We went one day with out calls before they were calling agian.

I think there associates all need to get on the same page!!!

Plus it is hard to get cought up even just on one late payment when they charge a $258.89 late charge and refuse to tell you why the late charge is that high and what it is for. All they would tell me is that there is a late fee and other processing charges. It does not take $258.89 to process a late fee.

Oh and the insurance, 4 we had progressive and switched to Gieco for a cheaper rate and geico sent the paper work to wells fargo. 3 months later wells fargo sent us paper work saying that they we insuring the car through Balboa insurance company and sent us a paper that we had to sign with in 10 days. We refused because we had insurance. Well on our next months bill we were being chareged for car insurance. When i called they had no record of Geico and refused to change it to Geico. We had to keep Balboa till 1-16-09.

12-19-08 i recieved a phone call from the insurance part of wells fargo saying we dont have insurance and need to call them with our insurance info. So were as all our money we sent for the insurace gone?

They keep calling and harassing us us because were half a month behind. Now we are a month and a half behind because they keep adding all these late charges and we cant get cought up. I dont want to ruin our credit a further, but i am almost ready to give up and just let them have the car. The problem we have to little kids and olny my husband works. It they garnished our wages or what ever they decide after taking the car, we wont make enough to live on so we are stuck we a car we cant afford.
