Alex Motorcycle Repair
Does not "Handle with Care"

Cars & Transport

I'm almost sorry to write this, but I feel like I have an obligation to other bikers. I like to support independent businesses and try to stay away from the name-brand shops. I took my bike to Alex for some minor tune-up and adjustments. I was impressed that they called me and kept me informed on how long it would take and what they needed to do. I spoke directly with the mechanic, Jim, who seemed like a nice guy, intelligent and caring.

The problem I have is that when I got my bike back, there were two horrific scratches on the gas tank and another scratch on the fender. Jim actually pointed out the scratches on the tank and told me "I should get that buffed out" - well, those scratches were not there when I left the bike with them. Later, I found the scratch on the rear fender. I am disappointed that the shop did not take responsibility for this and do something to fix it. Jim did offer to buff out the scratches if I brought the bike back, but I think the scratches should have been buffed out before I got the bike - and they should have taken responsibility for it. As it is, I left with the scratches intact and I will buff them out on my own, hoping I can hide them.

I dunno, but I'm sure any biker (or any vehicle owner) would be just sick knowing the bike that they baby has been abused like this and then just handed over with a shrug and a "you should buff that out". I know I am.

Sorry, Alex, you may be an upstanding guy, but you let me down. I am afraid I cannot even consider ever leaving my bike with you again.
