Mr Transmission - Milex
Told that my transmission needed completely rebuilt when it was only a problem with a melted wire

Cars & Transport

Our Isuzu was losing power when starting from a stop when the engine was warn... So we took it to Mr Transmission and We were told that the transmission needed a complete overhaul and that it would cost $450 to drop the transmission and then find out what all that was wrong. Once they had done that we were given a verbal bid of $1200 to $2000... Of course when it was completed it all totaled $3000...

My husband went to pick up the car and before he got home it still did the same exact thing on the way home... So we took it back...

They had our SUV for another 2 and 1/2 weeks... Only telling us that they did not know what was wrong and that the transmission work had a 1 year warranty

After the 2 1/2 weeks then they told us that it was a problem with the TCM and that would have to be replaced and it was not covered under the warranty for the transmission work that was done. We told them that we did not think that the work that they did on the transmission was needed because it was still doing exactly what it was doing before we brought it to them to fix. During this process my husband repeatedly asked to talk to the owner of Mr. Transmission and was only given his name (Rod Reynolds) and no phone number to be able to reach him. We tried calling all the Rod Reynolds in our area with no luck. We asked for a complete refund of the charges because the work they did in the Transmission did not fix our problem and was not needed.

We asked for the parts they used to repair our transmission and you quessed it they were thrown out with the trash... I big clue that the work they said that they did probably was not done...

After we picked up the Trooper from Mr. Transmission it was still not shifting properly and was running in lemp mode (only in third gear) we took the SUV to Webster Groves Subaru-Isuzu-Suzuki and had them start diagnostics to find out what was causing the problem. They found that the wiring harness had melted to the exhaust and that the TCM was not connected (the computer that controls the transmission). They reconnected the TCM and repaired the wiring harness.

The Tropper is now running without the problems that we originally described to Mr. Transmission and in our complaint to the Better Business bureau.

Mr. Transmission also told my husband that they replaced the wiring harnessand the mechanic at the Isuzu dealership told us that it was not replaced. That it was the original part. We are the original owners and have not replaced this part.

We have filed reports with both the Better Business bureau and the Attorney General office in Missouri. We have hired a lawyer also

We are contesting the work done on our SUV and would like a full refund of the charges on our MasterCard.

So please do your homework before you let them do any work on your car!!!
