$295.00 for a 3 mile tow... Held Car for ransom

An employee of mine, slid out on some wet leaves Saturday in his girl friends personal car, hitting a curb and bending the disk brake, making the tire lock. Police stopped and shortly there after a unsolicited tow truck driver stopped, and offered his services, when asked about the charge for towing, the response was don't worry the insurance will cover it. On Monday when their office was open, our employee, went to check on the car the estimate was more than he was able to pay and the insurance deductible was 500.00, he said he would fix the car himself, and wanted to pay the tow bill, well now the tow bill for a 3 mile tow becomes $295.00 and storage fees of $35.00 a day from Sat-Monday is $400.00. He goes back Tuesday, and the bill is $435.00. This young man does not have the funds, and came to my house this evening to ask what to do. I am sponsoring this gentleman for his immigration and he is not completly fluent in English, he speaks it but could be taken advantage off. I went Wednesday and the bill is $470.00 cash only. They wanted him to lose his car a Honda Accord so they could part it out. They are theives, and if they are willing to do this, Imagine the stunts the do to the cars they work on. And pocketing the cash unreported. You would be a fool to use there service of any kind. The Insurance only covers $75.00 for a tow, which is reasonable.

It strikes me as the public might like to know about this company's little game...
