Just Ripped Me Off!

My car had a screeching and dragging noise goign on, my hubby already replaced the front brakes. He could not replace the back brakes because he needed the right tools. Therefore, I went to Just Brakes where a tech told me it would be 89.95 to replace the pads and brake shoes. I went back to have them do it, and the Manager, a guy named Rick had me sign my name under inspection area, and initial in the Driveaway Service Cost Authorization in another space. Be mindful that the space next to where the initial is supposed to go initiating how much the inspection should cost was blank. I only saw that he put this: 89.95 in most cases, after I received my full receipt. I had already signed that. Therefore, this gave him the right to increase my service cost significantly.

He stated they had to rebuild the caliper which cost me in parts in labor 154.00... He only had to replace two pads which he put as a total of 89.95. Also he stated he replaced teh rotors, and discs, and adjust the brake system. I am no mechanic... But the only time I know you get a bill over $300 for brake service is when something SERIOUS is going on beyond their repair. I walked away with a $421.59 bill.

When my hubby and others found out they were furious. Stating I had been taken for a ride. I know Rick was a fast talker, trying to deflect from the fact that he was ripping me off. I am extremely sad, and hurt. I am sick of mechanics ripping women off when it comes to cars.
