Paid for legal advice that was not forthcoming

We asked for legal clarification concerning a used vehicle that had been purchased from a dealer (4 months ago) that was described as a 2002 year model but was later found to be a 2000 import. Whilst this was clearly a fault with the licensing agency in the uk (dvla) our contract is with the dealer and wanted to know if we could return the vehicle for a refund.
