Damaged my 2001 Honda Accord during a routine oil change

On July 25 I took my 2001 Honda Accord Ex to the service department at Jeffrey Honda for a routine oil change. I specifically requested not to have the courtesy car wash because I was suspcicious that the automatic car wash was scratching the paint on my car. My service advisor said that he wrote down in my paper work for the oil change not to wash the car. They washed it anyway. Upon my arrival home, I was drying my car in preparation for hand waxing when I noticed a small circular gouge in the rear bumper that I know wasn't there prior to the oil change. It looks like the bumper came in contact with a rotary object that scraped the paint and gouged the bumper in a circular fashion.

I immediately contacted my service advisor to explain what I saw and I took the car in that afternoon to show him the damage. He acknowledged that the damage wasn't there when he inspected the car prior to the oil change. When I asked what I should do about this, he said just leave it and I will make a note not to wash your car anymore.in other words, suck it up for now and we'll be more careful next time!!!

A few days later, I contacted this service advisor requesting some compensation for damages done on my car. He said he would talk to his supervisor and get back to me. That was 3 weeks ago and I've heard nothing since. I contacted the same service advisor on August 11 and 12 2008 by email and he refuses to respond. I finally called on Wednesday August 13 and spoke with a new service advisor who said that my previous advisor had been moved to another department within the company. I briefly explained to this new advisor what happened and he said he would look into it and call me in an hour. It's August 15, and I have yet to receive a call from this new advisor.

If this isn't a big run around, what is? I finally reported the company to the BBB of Michigan for them to deal with before contacting a lawyer. Whether the damage is small or large, damage was done and Jeffrey Honda refuses to do anything about it at this point. Beware!!!
