Dietz Towing
Company Towes Vehicle With Out Reason

Cars & Transport

This company towed my vehicle without reason. I left my vehicle parked across the street from my brother's house in Ontario, while I was on a short vacation. There were no tow away signs and my brother had left vehicles in front of his house before. My brother left a couple of days before I was due to arrive and the car was still parked where I left it. However, when I arrived home after midnight, I found my vehicle missing. I called the police to report the vehicle missing and was informed it had been impounded. I and my young son were stranded at my brother's porch, luckily my niece arrived an hour later and I was able to stay the night there. I contacted the company in the morning, the rep was rude and unprofessional. The reason stated on the invoice that the vehicle was towed for being disabled. The vehicle was not disabled, it ran fine. When I got there to pick up the vehicle we were asked to fill out the wrong paperwork and there was much delay in locating the vehicle, the attendant gave the rep looking for the vehicle the wrong information. They refused to let me use the bathroom. I feel the charges were excessive and perhaps trumped up. $118 for a phone call, $175 for 2 mile (5 min tow), $39 for one day storage, $87 for an after hour charge, I spoke to 5 employees, it did not appear the business was closed. I also drove off with the car, proving it was not disabled. I asked for a refund, they laughed at us.

I found Dietz Towing employees to be very rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. I was told it would take 20 minutes to process my car. I gave them a written and verbal description of my car (Silver, Ford Escort). They gave me the paperwork for a 1967 Ford Fairlane. I had to call for them on my phone, when I informed the employee she was processing the wrong vehicle, she said "diddly." I asked how much longer. She said 20 minutes and hung up. One of the drivers came out about an hour after we had arrived and said he couldn't find my car. He thought that maybe I could go inside the restricted yard and find it myself. I found it in less than two minutes; the employee said he had been told it was a different color. I had told the first employee at least twice that it was silver. My son and I had been waiting in the heat. He kept telling me he was scared. My car should never have been towed. The reason listed by Dietz was that it was disabled. It was not disabled; I drove it out of the restricted area myself. It started immediately. I want a full refund. My car was not disabled.
