Bad customer service I was fired for refusing to leave a woman and daughter wait 3 or four hours!

A co-worker of my wife's called me for a tow this morning. She said she was standing there by the car with her daughter waiting for the tow truck to arrive from the company I worked for, Emerald's. As I was out of the area on AAA calls, I took the call and called our dispatch to set up another driver to help her (yes, she was a paying customer!)

After an hour, I checked in with dispatch to see what the status of the call was. They said they had no one available. At that time, I heard a driver clear that was only 15 mins away from her. They could have sent him, but they didn't, nor did the lazy owner, Gene, get up out of his chair and run the call himself (he had a truck there at the shop!)

After 2 hours, dispatch paged me and told me that I was clear to go run that call myself! So, I left the area I was in and headed over to the customer and her daughter which took me about a half hour to get there. So, now she's been waiting for 2 1/2 hours in the hot sun, being left there with no help. When I'm only 5 mins away from her, dispatch calls and tells me that I have to run a motor club call for Allstate on a BMW. I told dispatch that I would get to it (it was a NEW call), as soon as I finished with this short 3 or 4 mile tow. Dispatch told me I had to LEAVE her and her daughter there even longer, and take the Allstate call FIRST. I told them no, not when she had been waiting sooooo long. At that, Gene, one of the owners, called and told me to bring my truck back to the yard. He fired me.

As I'm a man of integrity, I arrived to help the woman and her daughter anyways, and then I returned to the yard with the truck and collected my final check from these poor businessmen. I would NEVER suggest anyone use their services, towing or automotive. For any auto club, I REALLY never suggest letting your customers or members have to work with these people who also break the law with labor, taxes, drug testing and they even use off road diesel for their trucks to save money, which is WAY against the law! They have no integrity and no one should give them their hard earned money or trust them with their customers.
