I call them Americ's Lied!

I ordered a 2-Post Automotive Lift from B. Frechette at America's Pride (aka America's Lied!) on 4/30/08 during thier free shipping sale. I had been looking at thier lifts for several monthes previous and really liked the features and website presentations. What I really should have been looking at were complaint sites such as this one!

Anyways, order placed on 4/30/08, I was assured by Mr Frechette both on the phone and in writing (my invoice received May 1,08) that my lift would be held in thier warehouse until I returned from my vacation later that May. I simply needed to call, and my lift would then be put on a truck and delivered the freight depot in Albuq where I could pick it up. That to me is a statement that they have the item in stock, and that it is reserved for me.

Well, I called them after my vacation and the person I spoke with said there was a stock shortage, and it would be three additional weeks. This irritated me no end - but I figured you've waited this long, what's a few more weeks.

The three weeks pass and I speak with a Jessie Odonnell several times and she final states on 6/18/08 that they have stock and my lift will ship out via SAIC Trucking that week, and she will call me with the tracking number info the day after it ships. So Friday rolls around and no call from Jessie. I try calling several times the following week and get a receptionist who after giving her my order number say's there is no stock - it will be several moree weeks. More calls to Jessie and am either put on hold, or voicemail, or get the "she's at lunch" dodge.

Now this is interesting, I work in a different area code from my cell phone, so I call using the work phone and I get through to Jessie. There is more talk of delays at which point I cancel my order. Enough is enough! I recieve a nice cancelation email from Jessie on 6/27/08 confirming my phone cancelation on 6/25/08 - along with the statement that the purchase amount will be credited back to my credit card with 15 days of the cancelation date.

Well, it is now 7/16/08 - 21 days after I canceled and still no credit back to my credit card so I send Jessie another email (she's not available by phone) stating that I will contest the charge with my Credit Card Company if no credit is received today.

And that is where I stand now - I just got off the phone with my credit card company and have been credited the purchase price.

I have retained all the written correspondence, emails, as well as notes on phone conversations and can back this up 100%.

My advice for anyone considereding purchase of an automotive lift - or any other type of automotive service equipment that America's Pride (aka America's Lied) may sell is - DON'T DO IT! You'll be sorry.

Google "late delivery america's pride auto" if you don't believe me. It's a shame what some companies will do...
