Purchased vehicle from eBay auction and it went just over 100 miles before a $2600 repair was needed

. The car was purchased with no warranty. I picked the car up on 5/27/08. I drove it just over 100 miles when it broke down in Harrington, DE. I called Joe at Diamond Auto / Car Auto Connection / paulnikk (eBay seller) of Bristol, PA

. I said that I understood that I had purchased the vehicle with no warranty, but I certainly expected to at least make it home. He said that he would help me out and that he could not believe that it happened. The vehicle was towed to IG Burton Chev in Seaford, DE. At the cost of $125.00. Joe was in contact with myself and IG Burton until the car was fixed.

Turns out that the heads were warped and needed to be reworked. The total bill was for $2640.11. I also had the brake rotors turned while it was there, for they were bad. Joe agreed to pay half. After talking with IG Burton, he decided that his half would be $1100.00. On 6/8 he said that he would mail me a check for $1100.00.

On about 6/23 he sent a check for $400.00, but told me that he had stopped payment on it since I had opened a complaint with eBay and Paypal. You only have 30 days to file and I had no choice. He then told me on 6/26 to cash the check. He told me that the rest was coming. He had told me before that he would send 2 checks for "bookkeeping purposes". He stopped taking my calls and now will not answer emails.

I have been more than patient and I realize that there was no warranty with this vehicle. But he did agree to help me out. And that is what I can't understand. $1100.00 is a small part of the money that I am out on this deal. I can't get any help from eBay because he went outside of eBay.
