Driver Never Showed, Separate Package Found Soaked Under Tree

My wife and I stayed home all day because the package was listed as out for delivery and we needed to sign for it. Nobody came by 8 pm, yet tracking claimed that at 8:14 pm a delivery attempt had been made and the customer was unavailable. That was a lie, since no driver ever came by at all.

After several phone calls, I wound up driving one hour to collect the package myself. This is absurd. I learned the driver was about to be fired, so he took the truck out that morning and delivered not one package.

Separately, FedEx also had a package for me out for delivery on June 12th. It never came, though tracking showed it sitting at the facility. When I called, FedEx said it was damaged and in QA. A few days later I called again to check; the tracking number had not changed, and this time they told me they could not locate it. Nobody had seen it, it was on none of the trucks, and it was not in the building. I filed a claim with FedEx and waited for an answer.

This very evening a person doing a neighborhood cleanup came to my door. Under a tree he had found a box that was soaked and ripped to shreds. It was my package.

I phoned FedEx to ask about my claim and to tell them about this added insult on top of everything else. To make things worse, I was told the claim was denied because of a "waiver." I expect to hear from the claims department as well as from the customer associate (very helpful so far) with more details.

This is completely unacceptable, and I am furious.
