Cars & Transport

I purchased my car from Glendale Auto in December - height of winter in Arizona. At the time of purchase, I didn't take it for a test drive and believed everything the salesperson told me. I realized recently that the car sold to me has no AC installed. I contacted the salesperson and she says there is nothing she can do. When I purchased the car, the window sticker was removed for me, which is a violation of a federal statute:

Consumer Protections
Before individuals purchase a vehicle, there are already several federal laws at work that govern the quality and safety of products available for their purchase. Most of these are found under Title 15 (Commerce and Trade) of the U.S. Code.

The federal Automobile Information Disclosure Act, 15 USC 1231 et seq., requires automobile manufacturers and importers of new cars to affix a sticker on the window of each vehicle, called the "Monroney label." The label must list the base price of the vehicle, each option installed by the manufacturer and its suggested retail price, the transportation charge, and the car's fuel economy (in miles per gallon). Only the ultimate user (the buyer) can remove the label.

Val admitted in an email that someone removed it, and states it was placed in my glove compartment, but it is conveniently nowhere to be found now. This is especially odd, since the car wasn't detailed properly that day and I had contacted Val about that too. What a bunch of BS.

Prior to you agreeing to come in back in Dec 07, I emailed you the website window sticker on this particular vehicle. It listed all adds from factory and all standard options as well. When you took delivery I know the detailers had placed the window sticker in the vehicle's glove compartment.

All that I can do at this point as I stated before is discuss options with the management team.in doing so they have gotten the info for an aftermarket a/c unit to be installed in your Solstice for $3400. As stated before, they are willing to assist with a loaner vehicle.

I am doing everything at this point to assist you.
