GMAC Paid Off on Vehicle. Sent free title and refund for overpayment. Now wants payment and reported us as a bad debt! Usa

We never missed a payment for two years on our 2005 Saturn Vue. Then, this spring we decided to bite the bullet and pay it off the little more than ten grand oweed, and own it fully outright and have the clear title.

We made the pay off and recieved the clear title with a no lien on the vehicle, and we were even given a refund check of under 10 dollars for overpayment.

Then. The phone calls started. Debt collectors for not making the last payment! Then, they said we owed two months payment! Each time they called, we said, "Please elevate this to a supervisor, we have a clear title on this vehicle, it was paid off in full".

Finally, after two months, I called my bank to see what to do. They can do nothing.

I called GMAC and after THREE HOURS on the telephone. Demanding to speak to a supervisor in the USA, I got to a woman who said she was putting a hold on our account and looking into this.

Ten days have passed. Nothing has been done. Although, our credit report just dove almost 100 points in the barrel! Guess why? Yep! GMAC reported us for not making our payments for three months!!!

I have already been on the telephone for two hours trying to get a human in the USA and one that will talk to me. They are harsh and demanding payment and refuse to listen that I have a clear title!

I already called an attorney. I have no idea what to do.

Do not use gmac any longer!

After 40 years of buying and trading in used cars and financing vehicles, we have never had anything like this happen before!

They have their customer service processed in the Philippines now and guess who and what is screwing up!

Go to your bank, go to your parents, go to the marines. But do not use GMAC!!!
