Payoff check posted to someone else's account

On March 10 I bought a new car. I still owed on my old car which was financed through GMAC.

My dealer sent GMAC a payoff check on March 12. This check came with all my information; name address and social security #.

GMAC posted this check to someone else’s account.

I spent a month trying to figure out what had happened. Finally I called my dealer and she called GMAC and straightened out my problem.

I had called GMAC several times and sent 3 e-mails. No one at GMAC would help me. My car is finally paid off, but now I am owed an over payment from them and fear I will never see it.

Do not do business with GMAC. They are corrupt and incompetent. They do not care about their customers. I hope this paragraph helps others. I’m going to fight for my money and fight GMAC.
