Around the first part of january my husband and I took our truck to Wayne Neal Chevrolet for service after a phone conversation with the service manager, giving him details about our issues and concerns. The reason we took it there was because we both noticed a rumble and vibration in the front end of the truck. We travel alot, so this was a major concern. We dropped the truck off, on a Staurday morning. The young man at the counter, was cordial to my husband, and we also requested that they do a 80k mile transmission service and oil change as well. We called at 3pm that same afternoon, and we were told it would be ready by 4pm. We arrived to pick up the truck, they stated they could find no vibration, and it was probably a tire related issue. When I asked about the oil, they had put in regular oil, not synthetic as requested. I asked if they drove the truck, and the young man had a definate attitude, and at this point I asked to see his boss. The general manager came out and assured me they would take care of things. We then waited for an hour while they again changed the oil!!! Our bill was over $500!!!
The following monday as we left home we still noticed the rumble and shimmy and checked the tires, which were fine, and the pressure as well. We always use the factory pressure recommended. Still the vibration and sound was there. Having to travel for our work, and the week scheduled, we went on our way believing it was a issue of another kind.
Time went by and the vibration did not stop. We took the truck back again for a new cluster, (which was a GM recall) and they did free of charge. We told the service department again abouth the rumble and vibration. Tey said they would check it again. We also had another oil change, and tire rotation, thinking that maybe there was a blalnce issue. Another $110 and some dollars later, the problem was still there.
A couple weeks later, we took the truck back again!!! We told the service department about the vibration and sounds AGAIN! My husband told them to please try and find the problem as we had some time off and there would be no rush. We advised them we were traveling long distances, pulling a fairly large trailor and did not want to break down This was again on a Saturday. We were amazed when they called at 1:00 and said the truck was ready, and the problem was the insulators in the shocks, which were replaced at a cost of over $300!!!
We were so glad that this would fix our issue... It did not. We broke down outside Charlotte and had to have the truck towed, get a rental for the night, a hotel room, and the next day, get a truck rental to continue working for the next week.
We spoke the next morning to the service department at the dealer where we had the truck towed, and they stated the transfer case was wrecked... And completely dry!!! How could the former dealer we had been dealing with have missed this??? The repair cost was over $2000!!!
I took all paperwork the next day to Wayne Neal, and asked to speak with the general manager. He, after a brief conversation, and pulling his paperwork from the back, said they were not responsible for the negligence, and asked how we could be sure the other dealer repairing the truck was correct about the transfer case? They could be telling us a lie!!! How mad was I!!! I left the dealership and told him my plans of lawyering up. He jerked himself around and walked away.
Do not do any business with this dealer. Beware!!!
