Shady sales tactics Costa Mesa California

Cars & Transport

Beware of tis dealer and their sales practices. I purchased a new Toyota there and experienced the folowing.

1.internet manger would not confirm to me in e-mail or letter an offer we discussed on the phone.

2. Met him and after a few minutes of talk, punted me to a colleague who said "lease this car for 5-year and you will build up an equity interest to make the car mine at the end of the lease at little no cost, or I could ell the car myself and profit.

3. Would not provide a preliminary sales document, but agreed on an "out the door" price, with trade, of $28,000

4. Offered free add-ons, like leather, if "I would recommend customers to him and said that new HOV stickers would be available for a Hybrid car (untrue) and tax credits would apply (also not true).

5. Final paperwork had errors — much lower value of trade in, added $1,400 "service agreement" that was discussed and unwanted by me. Then he told me it was a "special free" bonus from Toyota Financial (it wasn't) and that gap insurance was also a free offer (became a charge later greater than my insurer's premium).

6. Refused to provide window sticker saying that they didn't do this on a lease

7. Did nothing to explain features of car and didn't have owners manuals for it, saying hat I would have to contact service later (I got them later).

8. I complained to Customer Service when they called, but after telling story, they said..."well, you signed the contract."

Don't do business with this dealer at your peril!
