My beef with Mr. Neveau is that I paid good money for an operable enigine with a 2 year / 40,000 mile warranty but never recieved one. What I got were two inoperable paper weights. I did manage to make the second engine he sent me work but only after spending $1,440 it on top of the $2,880 blown on the first engine. What should have cost me $5,000 wound up costing $10,000 plus 6 months of depreciation on my car and untold aggrevation. My story is below and I have e-mail, more facts plus my mechanic to verify it!

I went on Automotix.net looking for a used Jaguar engine. Mr. Neveau, as well as several other people contacted me with offers for engines. Mr. Neveau's engine was about $1400.00 more than its' next competitor but came with a two year or 40,000 mile warranty, so I ordered his thinking he knew he had a good product.

The engine came in needing to have the water pump repaired and a broken bolt removed from the engine mount, $450. My mechanic put it in it would not start and after $900.00 of diagnostics it was still a dud. I tried to call Mr. Neveau's 800 number and left 4 messages, but never received a call back. After a week, I sent Mr. Neveau the following e-mail on June 21:

Steve,
I have called you 4 times regarding this situation and need your immediate attention. The engine you sold me has been installed and is non-functioning. I need to find out what you intend to do about this since you did state below that it has a warranty.

Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated to avoid further action.

I can be reached at (my #)

I look forward to hearing from you regarding this matter.

Best regards,

Jerry Ervin

He did respond that day that he was on it. My mechanic received the new engine on August 17 after several threats from me. The replacement engine came in with a cracked valve cover, cracked timing chain cover and the wiring harness had been cut! I do have pictures. Per Mr. Neveau's direction, my mechanic took the needed replacement parts from the first engine which did make this engine usable, cost of repairs $1,300. Mr. Neveau also offered to pay $500.00 towards the repairs. I am still waiting for the $500.

Additionally, while taking parts off the first engine to fix the second one, my mechanic noticed that the camshafts were 180 degrees out of time, someone had worked on the first engine and not put it back together correctly.

Finally to add insult to injury, the vendor that supplied the engine to Mr. Neveau offered me an engine for $1,300 less.
