False Advertising, Bad Sales Practices

Purchased a tractor from Mr. Hallum on eBay, ad stated that this was a local one owner, clean, excellent condition, ready to go to the field tractor. We purchased tractor for $71,100.00 and paid $2,200.00 in shipping, upon receipt the tractor had a tire that was cut 3/4 around ($1,200.00 to replace), air conditioner and heater motor made a loud roaring noise, main wheel seals and main bearing seals all had severe leaks, steps were bent sideways as if they had run over something, we had our local John Deere Dealer go over the tractor and they informed us that there were $4,500.00 in repairs to make this tractor what was advertised. During our research into this tractors background we found that the original owner had traded it to a John Deere Dealer in Mississippi who then leased it out to who knows how many farmers until Mr. Hallum purchased to resell as a one owner tractor. Many conversations with Mr. Hallum between ourselves, eBay Square Trade and eBay Insurance and nothing could be accomplished. Mr. Hallum refused to make any kind of just settlement or take the tractor back from us and refund our money. All we wanted was for him to either pay for the repairs or to take the tractor back, we have been unable to get him to agree to anything, all he is concerned about was the fact that since he refused to take the tractor back we had no recourse but to leave negative feedback on eBay for this Seller. Please be aware that this person is a dishonest business man, we were burned on this deal but would like others to learn from our lesson.
